Damn but I must have the worst luck in the world. On top of all the other crap that has been going on, including my stupid ass son getting arrested for marijuana possession - AGAIN, my computer died. I had to go buy a new power supply for it. Not the worst thing that could have happened but I just can't seem to get a break.

Sorry to hear it bro. I have had my share of the hard times as well. Still trying to get back on top of it. Lots of debt because of crap that just kept happening. Its true when they say "it never rains but it pours". Hope things pick back up for you soon. Just remember that life is a roller coaster, full of ups and downs and twists and turns. You'll get back on top eventually .

Ouch, last I hear marijuana possession in states other than California is pretty costly.  Hell, even the 100$ fine we get here makes me avoid any kind of transportation with it on me.

Thanks and yeah Klyd it is expensive - court costs are at least $200-$300 plus if he gets probation that's another $1 a day for however long he gets. If they put himn in detention it's $5 a day. Last time he got put in an in house treatment program for 5 months. I have to go to court Thursday for this latest one and see what they say before deciding how we want to go - probably no contest and see whatv the prosecutors and judge decide to do.

That's Florida for ya. They just raised the fees for fines, renewing/getting a driver's license, plates etc here - at least double on most things from what it was and more than triple for some. Hoping teh court costs for this are not double or triple what they were last time he got in trouble.

Luckily most people I know found out pretty damn quickly it's easier to be smart than reckless.  A bit of a "duh" but I also know a lot of other people who are financially supported by their parent's that never learn...  I myself would call that a mistake for both parent and child, but who am I to say.  I skated on my parent's kindness for a whole year, in which I spent it slacking in regards to education  and employment  .

Thank god my father didn't take the supporting route.

The way you put it it seems like I am an assassin who's only marks happen to be of Mexican descent.  Yea, I'm currently unemployed again, and due to me having a problem with working at a Gamestop or fast food restaurant, I tends to keep it that way till I get through school... then I'll start paying off loans.

Or at least until people start getting on me about "paying my share."  In which I'll have to get one.  But hey, I would expect my awesomeness to be payment enough, these ungrateful bastards seem to think otherwise but whatever, I've got an escape plan.

Well, got another month to wait to see what's going to happen. I applied for and was approved for a public defender for him and another court date was set for April 22nd. What sucks is if they do lock him in a rehab facility again it will happen 5 days before his birthday. That would suck big time. I am hoping they take other circumstances into acct. Me and my wife were in teh process of seperating - acrimoniously, and he is undergoing therapy with a drug/mental health counselor at our house on a weekly basis now. Hopefully that counts for something.
